developed to provide support for employers and
Indigenous people looking for work.
This career awareness and education
program is designed specifically for Indigenous
students. It contains three booklets: Teacher
Handbook, Worksheets and Units of Work. The projects
in the kit have been designed for Indigenous students
in Stages 4–5 inclusive (Years 7–10),
however, the program could be used with a broader
range of ages. Search online for “ACAP”

Deadly Mob is an Alice Springs-based
program that has developed career materials and
activities for Indigenous students to work through
as they attend the centre. There is more information

The booklet was developed to inform
Indigenous students about careers in health. Search

DEST
The CDROM (with teacher notes) is
an interactive program where Indigenous students
can explore and practice skills in a range of
tasks required in simulated jobs and roles that
have been set in an Indigenous community context.
The resource is available from Australian Training
Products ATPL.
An ANTA-funded Career Guidance and
Advice for Indigenous Students project was overseen
by the Secretariat of the MCEETYA Taskforce on
Transition from School. The project included the
identification of possible obstacles that Indigenous
students confront in relation to becoming employed
in the private sector, descriptions of strategies
which will assist in overcoming them and examples

The Office of Public Employment
has published “A fair go for Indigenous
people” which includes case studies. OFE
